Diwali is a festival that
lightens up Indian skies as well as families! The joy of shopping and gifting
for Diwali is such an enjoyable experience, that families in India look forward
every year. Be it the delicious sweet meats or the piping hot bajjis, idli's
with hot small onion sambar! You can't miss the special diwali marundhu! We are
so fortunate to be born in such a rich culture which is full of celebrations!
But not all of us are fortunate
to enjoy the warmth of an oil bath or a new dress, delicious food , sweets ,
crackers and the presences of our loved
ones round.
“Sri Swami Satyananda said that the workers and the poor are the load
bearers of the society, they have to be taken care of. If they croak, the
entire society will crumble”
At Satyananda Yoga Centre, we
thought of lighting up someone's life this Diwali! We wish that you can also be
a part of this unique celebration of Diwali this year. Can you keep aside 10% of
your Diwali shopping budget for making this Diwali a memorable and enjoyable one
for 2000 orphan children! If 10% is something you can't plan now, you are still
welcome to GIVE, whatever you wish to.
When the mind of a destitute
child or an old person will light up celebrating Diwali, with your help! you
will have the satisfaction of living a blessed life. You'd have invoked the
fullest support of all the positive forces of nature by being part of this
small act of GIVING!
This
year Diwali Celebrations at Satyananda Yoga Centre will be a lovely offering to
the family of Sevalaya. This extended family has 2000 poor, destitute village
children and 65 poor and destitute grandpas and grandmas. These children are
getting completely free education and doing very well in studies. Many of our
students who completed school education have taken up higher studies and many
of them are fully supported by Sevalaya. The grandmas and grandpas as well as
the residents of the Children’s Home which houses orphan and destitute children
are given every good, healthy and nourishing food, proper medical attention,
love and affection. We estimate at least Rs. 1000 as the expense for one person
and we need support from all of you to have a great diwali for the 2065 people
in the Sevalaya family. We are sure that as in the previous years, we will get
your support. With all your unstinting support the evils of poverty and
destitution which plagued these 2065 residents are being successfully overcome.
We invite you to join hands and help us celebrate this victory on the
auspicious day of Diwali!
